The International Documentary Forum, organised by the Department of Radio-TV and Film of Istanbul’s Bahçeşehir University in collaboration with the Polish Doc’n’World Foundation, took place in Istanbul on 23-27 April 2014. The organisers on the Turkish side included Delizia Flaccavento and Ayşegül Selenga, and the Polish representatives were Jacek Bławut, Maciej Drygas and Victoria Ogneva, who for many years have been involved with the project The World from Dawn till Dusk, conceived as a cycle of workshops, where students – under the supervision of experienced lecturers – work on a collection of short documentary films, whose protagonist is their city. The films “Hear my Cry”, “89 mm from Europe”, “The Virtual War” and “Moscow from Dawn till Dusk” were shown. After the screening a wonderfully organised and run panel discussion took place, during which the Polish participants talked about their films, and also about the thinking behind the project The World from Dawn till Dusk. In addition separate focussed conversations were held with the students who had taken part in the discussions, with the aim of discussing work on a joint project.
